THE FESTIVAL TURNS FIVE
Welcome to the fifth annual Pan American Food & Music Festival, the largest Pan American Festival in Canada.
We are very excited to hold this year’s festival for a second year at Yonge- Dundas Square, one of Toronto’s top tourist destinations. We continue our annual tradition of bringing you 41 different ways to savour food, enjoy music and dance, and celebrate the cultures of the Americas. Over the last four years, we have been successful in showcasing the diversity of the Pan American countries in Canada and for the second year in a row the annual Pan American Music and Dance program with international dance and performers.
To celebrate Canada 150, our featured country is Canada, and you will taste flavours from across Canada, including Indigenous and Quebecois fare for the first time.
The Pan American Food & Music Festival is unique in Canada, bringing together all countries of the region and bolstering a growing shared identity that links all parts of the Americas. During the two-day festival (August 12 and 13, 2017) we will be presenting 25 countries, food demonstrations by Pan American chefs, three international food competitions, kids’ activities, a vendors’ market, and more than 500 artists on stage.
All this would not be possible without the support of our venue partner, our corporate and government sponsors, community partners, fantastic planning team and wonderful volunteers. With so much diversity and fun, we hope the Pan American Food & Music Festival will become one of your favourite annual summer festivals.
Buen provecho!
